Henri Coandă Airport, winner of Euro Annie Award for “Fastest growing airport” category
Henri Coandă International Airport won the trophy Euro Annie Award for “Fastest growing airport” in the category of airports that recorded, last year, between 5 and 10 million passengers. “Euro Annie Awards” are given by "Airline Network News and Analysis" (anna.aero), the portal specialized in air routes planning and exhaustive analysis performed by experts from the British civil aviation.
Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport won the “Fastest growing airport” prize, managing to overtake Marseille Airport, nominated in the same category as direct rival. Other airports that have been awarded with “Euro Annie Awards” distinction this year are those in Dusseldorf, Malta, Warsaw, Istanbul, Paris, Adana, Vilnius and Oslo.
“Euro Annie Awards” have been awarded on May 23rd 2013, based on traffic data provided by more than 300 European airports and airlines.
