„Ruecarest / Bucurestrada”

Street photography exhibition by Fred Fogherty - Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport - Exhibition Hall

Between February the 4^th and May the 1^st 2015, Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport is hosting the exhibition of street photography “Ruecarest / Bucurestrada” signed by Fred Fogherty (France).

The exhibition was first presented to the public between November the 28^th and December the 22^nd 2014, at the French Institute in Bucharest. Most of the photos exhibited at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport are spotted in Bucharest, capturing its specific features and offering the passengers of the largest airport in Romania a touch of the reality, identity and charm of the city.

Among the winners of the photo contest "Magic Eye", organized by the Monuments and Heritage Administration of the Municipality of Bucharest, Fred Fogherty discovered his passion for photography during his trip around the world which took him 80 days, similar to Jules Verne’s character. His photos reflect his own artistic vision on people and places from all around the world. His philosophy is to present the towns to their own people from a different perspective, while developing one of the five senses, the one of noticing around.

"As I had just arrived in Bucharest, it took me some time to get to know this city, as I did not want to tame it, but I preferred to let its charm act on me, like a sweet and enchanting music.
Taking photos on different streets around the world, I gained some experience, but here, in Bucharest, I felt that I had to be gentler and more patient with it!

This city can show you beautiful images, and if you know how to look it will reveal his soul. And thus, through this photography exhibition, I want to present my vision over this city which impressed me with its charm.

“Ruecarest/Bucurestrada” at Henri Coanda Airport is part of the program "The airport – a cultural bridge", which builds relationships, as Bucharest Airports National Company becomes a meeting point between touristic and artistic destinations, cultures and nations ... By hosting this exhibition, the airport brings together, into a motivating confluence the French Institute, the temperamental Bucharest which has fascinated and continues to fascinate generations, and the magic eye of Fred Fogherty!
