Champions Parade at the airport

Bucharest “Henri Coandă” International Airport is a familiar space for sporting demonstrations. We began by offering passengers’ kempo and judo demonstrations, to the end that, on November, 19, in collaboration with Romanian Fencing Federation, we presented a fencing demonstration to passengers.

Being part of “CNAB, a value promoter” cultural-educational program, “ The champions parade at the airport” took place in an unconventional space: the new Departures Terminal of Bucharest “Henri Coandă” International Airport. The event was attended by athletes from the epee national female team and younger athletes from CS Riposta and ACS Balestra clubs.

Ioana Dumitru, Greta Vereş, Mirela Ifrim and Iasmina Davar were the athletes of the epee national team who offered some memorable battle demonstrations that drew people's attention to fencing. The demonstration of CS Riposta and ACS Balestra sports clubs’ members made the public’s delight, as the youngest athlete was only eight years old. It was a complex event, which involved the presentation of three techniques and, therefore, three weapons used in fencing: saber, foil and epee.
