Bucharest Airports National Company sets off the development and modernization strategy

December 9th, 2010: Bucharest Airports national Company set off the development and modernization strategy for the two airports in Bucharest. The event was attended by the Minister of Transports and Infrastructure, Mrs. Anca Boagiu, as well as mass media representatives.

The development and modernization strategy for Henri Coanda Airport includes, among other, the extension of the Departures Terminal (Schengen / Non-Schengen flows) which will lead to the increase of the passengers number to 6 million per year.

As for Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu Airport, the strategy aims at changing the airport purpose, from a predominant use for the “low cost” flights to one for the business segment, the commercial traffic following to be taken over by Henri Coanda International Airport.
