The metaphor of the bridge, which connects worlds, ideas, cultures, was the starting point in the development of the "The airport – a bridge between cultures" program, run by Bucharest Airports National Company since 2012. Because the airport is not only a place of transit, where people get on and off planes, but often the first point of contact between different cultures, which interact and intertwine in a diverse and vibrant mosaic, even from the very beginning our program aimed to promote a deeper and wider understanding between different cultures. Passengers from all corners of the world, with their physical and cultural baggage, come across in this space. Every major airport in the world is a microcosm of cultural diversity, facilitating cross-cultural encounters and exchanges that enrich the travelers' experiences.
The National Day of France offered us such an opportunity to launch a bridge to the French traditions and cultural specifics, celebrating them in an event organized in partnership with Air France, Lagardère Travel Retail, ARCUB and Carrefour. The passengers of Bucharest "Henri Coandă" International Airport were greeted with a series of moments of music, pantomime, wine tasting and desserts, in an attempt to outline the French spirit and culture.
Through such events, the airport strives to build bonds, continuing to be a vital center of connectivity and cultural understanding, insisting on launching bridges of communication, unity and friendship.
